Who am I?
First of all, let me tell you a little about myself and how my journey into photography began. My name is Leon, I’m the photographer behind nature.through.lens, I’m 24 years old, studying Biology, and I’m, as you all could guess, a wildlife photographer.
It all started with an old bridge camera belonging to my father, taking photos of pets and the garden. I quickly became fascinated by all the insects around me, and it was time to upgrade my equipment. That’s how I got my first DSLR, a Canon 70D, along with a macro lens. But my focus changed once again when after graduating from high school. I just wanted to get out, leave everyday life behind, and see what lies beyond the familiar. So, it was time to invest in both a wide-angle and a telephoto lens to capture the fascinating nature of different countries.
Namibia wasn’t the first place that came to mind, but with a bit of help and curiosity, it became one of my favorite countries and it is a true hotspot for wildlife photography.
I’ve experienced so many incredible moments there and it turned my love for wildlife photography into a part of who I am.
Of course, Namibia was not the end of my journey. On my website, you’ll find the best photographs from my travels through Namibia, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe.
